Town Hall Meeting with The Great Tree

ANNOUNCEMENT: Town Hall Meeting w/ The Great Tree – Their origins and future plans.

Shorah Explorers! We are pleased to announce our next Town Hall meeting. This time our honored guests will be members of The Great Tree, including Brian Fioca, Daedalus, Professor Askew, Marten, Cycreim and Saxy. In this meeting we will discuss Brian Fioca’s original views and outlooks for The Great Tree and their history and involvement during Prologue and Until UrU. We will also discuss what TGT is hoping for with UrU Live, what their prospective involvement will be, and their ongoing series of Prologue documentaries.

The morning meeting will be IC , where we discuss what The Great Tree is all about and its purpose, and the evening meeting will be more OOC and focused as a workshop on ways to get involved in and influence the official story of Uru Live.

Please submit any questions you may have via PM on the DRC Site Forums to any of the Liaisons and we will do are best to get them answered for you. PM’d questions will be accepted up till Wednesday, 08 November 2006 only. Any PM’d questions received after this will not be accepted or answered. We apologize for this, but in order to get these questions submitted to the guest in a timely manner, we have to have a cut-off date.

Please remember to activate the /autoshout, /autoschreien (German), or /autocrier (French), to toggle age broadcasting on and off. As usual, the format will be for the first half of the meeting to answer pre-submitted questions. Then for the second half of the meeting we will open the floor for questions. Please remember that if you have a question during the open floor portion, that you need to PM the appointed Liaison with “QUESTION” and you will then be added to the queue. We ask that you please have your question ready (typed out) so that when your name is called we can avoid any delays.

The new format for this and all future meetings is that we ask that all attending explorers and guests to please STAND during the meeting. We also ask that you do not use your KI if you can avoid it. We are doing our best to find any and all methods to ensure a “stable” environment for all attending and to avoid any crashing or vanishing of explorers and our guests. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in this.

UruVote/DRC liaison election site is up

Hi.

I’m amonre (Denis Defreyne in real life) and I’ve created, implemented and designed the DRC liaison election site specially for all of you. That means the unelected mini-dictator is me, mwa ha.

The DRC liaison election site, UruVote, is finally up and running. Check it out:

uruvote.stoneship.org

Ooh. Aah. Pretty.

Some candidates still have to send in their descriptions and pictures. Hurry!

Voting is scheduled to start in a week (Saturday October 21st) and you’ll be able to vote for seven days. After that, the site will be closed mysteriously… the votes will be counted… and the results revealed. Tadaam!

But we’re not quite so far yet.

GameTap Announcement and Birthday Offer

This is a Limited Time offer, Rawa posted about on the DRC forums;

Dear Myst Online: Uru Live fans,

GameTap is celebrating its first birthday on October 17, and they just made two big announcements which should make many of you happy even though neither one specifically involves Uru Live:

  1. GameTap will officially launch in Canada on October 17th. This is the first step in GameTap’s international expansion and means that our Canadian friends can sign up for GameTap beginning October 17th to take advantage of everything that GameTap has to offer while awaiting the launch of Uru Live.
  2. As part of the GameTap birthday celebration, a very special offer has been announced, but it is only valid until October 22. Anyone who signs up for 1 full year of GameTap between now and October 22nd will receive their 12 month package at 50% off the regular price. That means you get 12 full months of GameTap for only $59.40 compared to the regular cost of $119.40. That brings your monthly cost down from $9.95 to $4.95.

That’s obviously a huge savings and the $60 price gives you 12 months of over 700 of the greatest video games of all time plus all-new GameTap Originals like Sam & Max: Season 1 (launching on Oct. 17) and Myst Online (launching this holiday season) for less than the cost of one new next generation console game. This limited time offer is a great option for those of you who are on tight budgets and are going to sign-up for Myst Online but were going to wait until it actually launches. Sign-up now and you’ll save 50% off your entire first year of GameTap and be sure to use this special Uru Live link to let GameTap know you’re signing up because of Uru and click on any of the “sign up” now links on GameTap.com.

Please note this offer is also valid for those of you who are already GameTap subscribers. Just click the Uru Live link to show your support and then sign-in at the members tab on the top right of the GameTap homepage. You’ll see the special $4.95 annual rate and once you select it you’ll automatically be transferred to that offer at the end of the month.

It would really send another strong message to GameTap if a lot of you signed up for the special offer using the special Uru Live link. As always, thank you for your continued support.

Cyan Worlds

Note: This offer is only valid in the United States and Canada as GameTap is not currently available in other countries.

If you signed up for the discounted annual subscription of $6.95 per month as I did just two days ago, you still have time to change your subscription to take advantage of this awesome price of $4.95 per month for a one year subscription. Call GameTap Customer Service or use the website.
