Due to unexpected and unforseen circumstances Writers of D’ni MOO has relocated to a new host (this is #5 according to one of our Wizards). In order to connect, please use the following address as the UO one is no longer valid (the MOO isn’t there anymore)

Due to the same circumstances, erithan.net is also relocating to yet a different host, but I am still waiting for the DNS to turn over and point to them. Once it does, the MOO info pages will be available there once again.

Once again, the Archive finds itself lacking in information prior to the next Myst release, and once aain, I’m too buzy / lazy to add the information myself, so it’s time for some more fan-to-fan bribery.

Starting today, and running until midnight (Eastern Time) on September 5th, any person who contributes new material to the Information Archive will be entered to win the contest. There will be one grand prize winner and three runners-up.

Prizes are not yet finalized (Kha’tie went on vacation), but I’m looking into getting some serious Myst swag for the grand prize, and some equally good but not quite as abundant swag for the runners-up.

To participate, you will need to register for an account here at DPWR. We ask this for two reasons: 1) so that we can track what entries you’ve posted, and 2) so that if you win, we can actually contact you. Please make sure that your email address is valid before registering. A confirmation email will be sent to you after you register to ensure your address is valid. Please check the spam folder of your mailbox, because some filters incorrectly consider forum emails like this to be spam. If you already have an account, we ask that you please make sure the email address in your profile is up-to-date.

After registering, simply head to the Archive, select the proper category for your entry, and click “New Article” at the top right. Please also be sure to read the Posting Guidelines for the Archive before entering.

Ron “Randomos” Meiners will be leaving his position as Myst Community Manager at Ubisoft on the 15th of July after working with the company for 2 years.

He has taken up a Job with online game There going under the username Random.

We wish Ron the best of luck with his new venture and thank him for all he’s done for the community.

During a trip to france Rand Miller took the time out to answer some questions.
After the long wait Mystworlds France has hosted the questions as individual movies the first 4 are up and it looks as if more are to come

• Is Myst V still in development and when is it scheduled for release?
• Is it true that Steven Spielberg and James Cameron wanted to make a motion picture out of Myst?”
• What about the fourth book on Myst?
• Will there be actors integrated in the 3D environment like RealMyst or is it going to be avatars like in Uru?
• Will Myst V be the final chapter of the Myst universe or will it only bring an end to the Atrus family storyline?
• Why do you think Myst inspires such loyalty amongst its fans?
• There are rumours that Cyan is working on an action game, as well as another MMO. Can you confirm any of this?
• Do you believe in the existence of multiple parallel universes and expect that we may, in the future, be able to use time travel?
• Is there any chance that Cyan will release a Uru/Myst V map editor, so that fans can create their own storylines based in the universe?
• Rumour has it that Cyan is developing a new interface capable of reading a player’s handwriting. Can you give us any information about this feature?
