D’ni League of Activites to Re-open

From Eric L;

Dear friends,

As you all know by now, the D’LA site has ceased to exist as you remember it. However, I am pleased to announce that the site is far from dead. I have been asked to help it continue, and I believe the next incarnation of the site will be considerably more useful for the Uru community at large.

Just before the closure, Maztec had planned a complete redesign of the site, as well as a refinement of its focus. Where the former D’LA site primarily focused on a small group of people trying to organize large events, the new site will exist to support all of you in your own event planning. The idea is to provide you with a place to announce, plan and organize your events, as well as gather and organize participants. I have decided to carry on with Maztec’s original idea.

As I’m sure you can well imagine, this is an ambitious task and will take some time to develop. In essence, we are building a complete application into the website, and we are writing it from scratch. My intention is that once the framework has been laid, I will start making parts of it available so that it becomes useful as quickly as possible. Before that happens, I hope everyone can be patient with us. There is still a lot to do.

Shorah,
Eric L

D’ni League of Activites to Close

From Maztec;

In light of recent events, lack of personal time, and waning interest, the D’ni League of Activities (D’LA) has decided to let its doors close. The registration on dniactivities.org expires on January 9th. If anyone wishes to pick up the torch and carry it on, they are more than welcome to. All reasonable dniactivities.org site resources will be passed on to the new registrant upon request. If there is sufficient interest an earlier transfer can be made. If you are interested in taking over the D’LA please contact me (maztec) before January 9th, with an explanation regarding why you would like to take over the organization.

Finally, I would like to apologize to everyone for any false hopes I may have created regarding the D’LA. I had a lot of plans for it, but not enoguh personal time and too many volunteers were intimidated by other organizations. Good luck in your future endeavors and a personal thank you and blessed rest to one of the D’LA’s earliest helpers, Pepsi.”

Sad Day for the Community

Khatie passed on the sad news to us;

It is with a very heavy heart that I must tell you all that Pepsi died yesterday morning at 4:30 AM her time. JennyH was in touch with her on Christmas Eve and wished her well from all of you, and spoke with her. Pepsi was in good spirits and feeling well. Over the weekend she became unwell, and doctors did not know the reasons behind this. Then yesterday early morning she slipped away, reasons unknown. It is thought it could have been a blood clot.

There are threads appearing at the Guild of Greeters, on the Lysts, at Myst Realm, Myst Community, Myst Obsession, among others. Also, Deg and I are working on a Memorial Page for her here:

Please use the link to email me your thoughts, stories, or any other ways you’d like to see Pepsi Remembered.

Pepsi – you were one of the kindest, courageous, most helpful women I’ve ever known. I was proud of your spirit and honored to call you dear friend. I will never forget you and will do what I can to make sure that those visiting the cavern remember your spirit.

Pepsi, I know where you are now you can do so many things that you couldn’t while on Earth – things you were able to do in the cavern – things that your online family never knew you could not do.

I love you Pepsi, I miss you, and I thank you for being an inspiration to so many of us here, and throughout the Myst communities out there.

Although we are all saddened by your passing we are all so thankful that you are finally free from pain and earthly limits.

God speed Pepsi!

(((((((hugs to you ALL at this sad time)))))))
