Sad Day for the Community

Khatie passed on the sad news to us;

It is with a very heavy heart that I must tell you all that Pepsi died yesterday morning at 4:30 AM her time. JennyH was in touch with her on Christmas Eve and wished her well from all of you, and spoke with her. Pepsi was in good spirits and feeling well. Over the weekend she became unwell, and doctors did not know the reasons behind this. Then yesterday early morning she slipped away, reasons unknown. It is thought it could have been a blood clot.

There are threads appearing at the Guild of Greeters, on the Lysts, at Myst Realm, Myst Community, Myst Obsession, among others. Also, Deg and I are working on a Memorial Page for her here:

Please use the link to email me your thoughts, stories, or any other ways you’d like to see Pepsi Remembered.

Pepsi – you were one of the kindest, courageous, most helpful women I’ve ever known. I was proud of your spirit and honored to call you dear friend. I will never forget you and will do what I can to make sure that those visiting the cavern remember your spirit.

Pepsi, I know where you are now you can do so many things that you couldn’t while on Earth – things you were able to do in the cavern – things that your online family never knew you could not do.

I love you Pepsi, I miss you, and I thank you for being an inspiration to so many of us here, and throughout the Myst communities out there.

Although we are all saddened by your passing we are all so thankful that you are finally free from pain and earthly limits.

God speed Pepsi!

(((((((hugs to you ALL at this sad time)))))))

Ryan Comments on Future CyanWorlds Projects

From Ryan Millers Blog;

“Given the fact that our company is working on a project that hasn’t been announced yet, and that I’m working on a project that is after that one, I’m not sure what I can really say about Cyan without sounding like I’m trying to be secretive or hide information from you. So, there really isn’t much to say – some people are working very hard, trying to reach some important milestones.”

Uru For Mac Cancelled

From CyanWorlds;

Fellow Mac users,

Back in February 2004, after trying to get funding for the Mac version of Uru for several years, we announced that the Mac version was underway.

We are extremely disappointed to have to announce today that the Mac port of Uru is officially cancelled.

There were several sticking points along the way, culminating with an issue involving the physics engine used in Uru. The company doing the port found out that there would not be a Mac port of that physics engine. We hoped that alternatives could be found, and we waited for official word with the rest of the Mac community.

Our last request for an update from Ubisoft finally laid those hopes to rest.

We thank you all for your patience in waiting for the Mac version of Uru, and are sorry that your patience, in this case, will not be rewarded.

Rand and the Cyan Worlds Team

PS – We’d like to think that we learned something from the experience. We chose not to use the same physics engine on our current project.
