Aquila the founder and administrator of The Lyst and The Spoilers Lyst passed away today.
His sister posted this message to the Lyst;
It is with great sadness that I have to tell you that my brother died this afternoon. I had been out with our mother to the doctors and when we returned he was unconscious on the floor. I, of course, called 911 but they were unable to revive him
You all meant a lot to him.
We will miss him.
This is a great loss to the community.

Dear Fan Community,
Over the last few years many of you have worked on modifying and manipulating Uru and Uru related products. By doing so you have raised many issues that Cyan now needs to look into. Whether the issue is fan created content to alcugs or your own personal endeavor these are not items we can decide on quickly.
The assumption made by many in the fan community is if Cyan doesn’t say anything then they must be okay with it. Don’t mistake our silence for approval. These issues need to be discussed in detail on our end to determine where they fall in the big picture.
We have never given anyone permission to hack our engine, make servers with unauthorized data; use our global data, etc.
Any fan created work will be addressed on a personal basis by our legal department. Please contact legal@cyan.com .
We have been continually amazed with the persistence you have shown and hope in the future we can work with you. We truly hope this period of planning will be sorted out soon. Unfortunately, the timeline for this is not entirely in Cyan?s control and we will try to update you whenever possible.
At this time I would refrain from releasing or modifying any data until stated from Cyan Worlds Inc. that it is all right to do so.

Considering that the domain is closing, the forums (and soon the entire site) are being moved over to my domain. This may not be a permanent thing. I can’t afford to buy another domain and space at the moment, but that may change in the coming months, and Tasera will once again have it’s own home.
Everything is going to be kept as it is right now. Any new posts on this forum as of now will not be changed over to the new one, as it’s all been set up. If you find any bugs at the forum’s new address, please send me a PM there to let me know about it so I can get it fixed.

Due to a decrease in financial resources I am afraid that Tasera.com will be closing on January 19, 2005. I apologize for the fact that friendships forged will now need a new location with which to continue.
I LOVE you all so much and it pains me to even type this. I am sorry for my prolonged absences and neglect for the site… perhaps as we re-assimilate ourselves into the larger, co-ed forums we will bring a strength and unity that the Myst community needs to sustain itself in the coming months.

Seems there has been some Developements over at the D’ni Restoration Council’s website.
The forums have been moved from being hosted by Ubisoft back to the DRC’s server and the software has been changed to phpBB. There is also new posts from Victor Laxman and a Reseng. What this means for the DRC site remains to be seen but with the coming announcement from Cyan it seems like these 2 events could be connected.
We shall keep you updated with the developements when more updates come
